Trollope Blasts Rovers

Trollope Blasts Rovers

Rovers first team coach Paul Trollope was left fuming after Rovers second half performance in their game against Northampton last night.

Rovers went 1-0 up just before the break through Sean Rigg, but conceded a sloppy goal 15 minutes into the second half.

Trollope fumed: 'That's the worst 45 minutes I can remember seeing for a very long time and it's unacceptable.

'We are better than that. We did everything possible to put ourselves under pressure with needless offsides, and a lot of stupid fouls. We showed a lack of thought and a lack of desire to go that extra yard.

'That's something we don't want to see it again this season.'

Trollope made five changes to the starting line up last night, Walker, Rigg, Anthony, Haldane and Carruthers were all recalled. Lambert, Williams, Jacobson, Lines and Hinton all had to settle or a place on the bench.

Rovers are now in 16th place after the draw, but still have three games in hand on most teams in the league.

We certainly played like a team with 5 changes! Horribly disjointed and lucky Northampton had nothing upfront to really punish us.

a draw that suits them as you appeared to be in control of this one anyway
