'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fans Interview: Roverdrive

How long have you been following Rovers and what was your first game?

My first game was the home match against Shrewsbury Town in March 1994 - we won the game 4-0! Hence I've been supporting the Gas for 14 years.

What is your most memorable moment following the gas?

Worst:

Playoff final v Huddersfield at Wembley is obviously up there, but hadn't been following the gas that long by then and was pretty young so, for me, it was probably getting relegated to the basement division.

Best:

Shrewsbury at the new Wembley - the best day of my life.

Who is your all time favourite player?

Best Player:

Marcus Stewart or Barry Hayles. I'll probably go for Barry Hayles as I seen more of him. On his day tho, Astafjevs was a joy to watch to.

Worst:

Michelle Di Piedi was pretty bad

What would you say is the best goal you have seen us score?

Chris Llwellyn (sp?) scored a brilliant goal once and Lambert's against the 82ers was pretty special. Quite simply though it HAS to be Sammy Igoe's in the playoff final - for the sheer emotion and joy in brought and the reward as well.

Best away ground visited?

Wembley!

What are your thoughts on the proposed new stadium?

After the disappointment of the last few delays, I'll believe it when I see it. Will be nice to have a modern stadium that looks great etc but will certainly miss the terracing.

Which player(s) would you like to see us sign (realistically)?

Realistically in terms of budget and who we could attract, I'd quite like to see us sign Jo Kuffour (I think he'd be great option from the bench) or an out and out right winger - I love Pipey's work rate but his delivery isn't the best...

Which player would you like to see leave the club?

I think most of the players I didn't rate too highly have now moved on so I'm not sure to be honest. If I HAD to pick a somebody though it would be Rigg and JKD out on loan to get some experience.

What are your thoughts on how last season ended and how did it compare to your expectations?

The end of last season was disappointing. Prior to the FA Cup run it looked like we'd finish top half IMO but after the exit from the cup to WBA things went down hill pretty rapidly. I don't think it was a true reflection of our ability though and that some of it was down to a lack of desire/effort. There is no way I'm condoning (sp) this but I do feel that the players felt we were safe already and that there was no way we could go up and hence didn't play to their full potential. At the end of the day, we did what was required in the league and had a great cup run to boot so I was fairly happy.

What are your expectations for next season?

FA Cup semi final and promotion. No but seriously, I'm feeling much more confident about the coming season after seemingly addressing our main problems (left wing and goals). I don't expect us to even need to mention the 'R word' next season and will be happy with a top half finish - perhaps flirting with the last playoff position at times throughout the season.

Where do you sit at the Ground?

Bass Terrace for me - I love standing and the atmosphere it creates.

Name the celebrity you would most like to bang:

Lucy Pinder or Elisha Cuthbert. Or both. I don't think I'd ever leave the bedroom!
