'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vital Gas Interviews 2012: Mancgas

1)How long have you been a Rovers fans?

Since early 1970s. Moved from Newcastle and was taken to Ashton Gate as they were the 'big club' according to new neighbours. However during a nil nil draw we witnessed fans spitting at their own players, and Dad said I'm not having this lets try the blue team.

2)Mark McGhee, your opinion please?

A proper football man who speaks the truth - his success will be framred by whether his own signings work out

3)Best and worst moments of last season?

Pretty poor all in all. Best moments really few and far between but Carryol blosoming from a player substituted at half time to a real threat under North and McGhee was exciting to watch. Worst - that home game when Buckle finally lost the crowd and dressing room, physio and kit man!

4)What will your opinion of the board be if they deliver The New Mem as promised?

As with most football fans anywhere, sceptical of any Board and if they deliver, it will be long over due and after so much has been wasted on fees and fancy drawings for stupid projects which would never succeed.

5)Which players should Rovers look to sign over the summer?

I'd like some proper midfielders, creative want the ball everytime blokes. We have not had one for decades, Jamie SHore was probabvly the last real talent we had (effort is important but it doesnt make a great midfielder- a fact which confused many about Stuart Campbell)

6)Which player would you happily drive to his new club to get rid?

None really its not their fault they are not good enough but we employed them. Glad Sawyer went as he was poor and highly paid. Mc\Ghee will weed rest out without needing us to taxi them around!

7)Favourite current player?

Probably Matt Harrold, although Michael Smith has so far been underused and hopefully he will kick on this season

8)Favourite all time player?

So many boyhood heros Frankie Prince Smash and grab and Paul Paul Paul Randall through to most talented I ever saw like Vitalite, Roberts and finally Rickie Lambert

9)Where do you expect to see us finish next season?

Play offs - just

10)Given the opportunity is there any question from the Club you would like to know the answer to?

Not really if I have a question I ask it, and more often then not unless its about money you get an answer. Maybe why do disabled fans not get a better deal? Ambulatory disabled tickets are available but are the furthest possible walk from the car park. Just plain stupid that.

11)And finally Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why?

Never meet your heroes as you will always be disappointed

Few exceptions to that rule like Ian Holloway Jason Roberts, Rickie and Nigel Martyn.
