'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vital Gas Interviews 2012: Peter Parker

1)How long have you been a Rovers fan?

Since about 88/89 when dad took me for being a naughty boy. Swansea away was my first away game. Christian McClean was sent off, not sure first home game to be honest

2)Mark McGhee, your opinion please?

Well he's a 'proper' manager isn't he, in the sense he has been there, done it, got the t-shirt sort of guy. Get the impression he may have mellowed (just a little) over his career but still wouldn't want to annoy him. Was pretty straight talking and honest at the back end of the season and I hope that continues. In short. I am happy with him and certainly makes me feel confident in him, even if you don't agree with everything he does. Trust

3)Best and worst moments of last season?

Well worst was probably Villa in the Cup. I don't think anyone expected a win, but it summed up our first half of the season, with a complete lack of confidence and ideas and it was embarrasing to see us 'give up' knowing we were on TV.

Best, well appointing Mr McGhee and him bringing a sense of awareness. the last few games just brought back a bit of a smile and hope

4)What will your opinion of the board be if they deliver The New Mem as promised?

If it does what it is supposed to then Nick Higgs and the board deserve all the plaudits they can get. Still have my doubts about some of it until the costings are about and how it is being funded exactly, and how the funding streams will work. Been a bit easy so far, can't help feeling there is a snag or a catch somewhere as there has been countless times before. Alright habving a new ground, but no good if we don't make money with it. That will be the challenge if/when it is built

5)Which players should Rovers look to sign over the summer?

In previous (younger) years, i would probably be looking, but now let the manager get on with it. If we sign someone will give them a look and see what they have done/might offer the team.

6)Which player would you happily drive to his new club to get rid?

None really and that would have included the recently departed. Even if they wern't the best, the effort was there and you can't knock them for that

7)Favourite current player?

I like Harrold, but will say Woodards. A Mr Consistent and the best full back we have had for years and years

8)Favourite all time player?

Marcus Stewart, simply the best. Honurable mention to Devon

9)Where do you expect to see us finish next season?

Expect nothing really. Hope top 7 though as anything else would be a bit disappointing

10)Given the opportunity is there any question from the Club you would like to know the answer to?

I'd probably struggle to pick one in all honesty (and no they aren't all criticisms)

11)And finally Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why?

Again a bit of a tough one. I'd like to meet loads probably. Ryan Reynolds, but not for the reasons the ladies probably would. He seemed like a real top bloke on Top Gear. Having met Brad Wiggins (briefly) I'd quite like to meet him properly and Mark Cavendish.
