Praise For Loan Pair

Praise For Loan Pair

Manager Mark McGhee has praised Neil Etheridge and Tom Eaves.

McGhee has been impressed Neil Etheridge who is on loan from Fulham in recent weeks, but made a rare mistake which gifted Chesterfield a goal to draw level on Saturday. Etheridge did not let the mistake get to him and McGhee was full of praise for him for the way he responded. McGhee told Rovers' official website: 'The first goal was a freak, I am not quite sure what happened to Neil, I thought he had lost it in the sun, but he just lost his bearings.

'It is very unusual for him as he has been absolutely brilliant and made some great saves again, so we forgive him for that. He is a terrific lad, with a terrific attitude, and it was just one of these things.'

McGhee also praised Bolton loan striker Tom Eaves who McGhee was critical off after the Southend defeat. 'For a player on loan to show such commitment to the cause and pick up from his disappointment on Tuesday night, I think shows that Tom has great character and we are thrilled to have him here,'

20 year old Eaves has scored 5 times in 10 appearances for Rovers since joining on loan.
