Rovers Linked With Striker

Bristol Rovers Manager John Ward has been linked with a move for Swindon Town striker Paul Benson.

The 33 year old striker is out of favour at Swindon and has just returned from a loan spell at Portsmouth where he scored twice in seven games. He was due to join League Two side Cheltenham Town on loan until the end of the season, but the deal collapsed. Benson has also rejected a move to Bradford City as its believed he is keen on staying in the West country.

Benson hit 13 goals in 29 appearances for Swindon in League Two last season. Swindon are keen to reduce the wage bill which is believed to be around 250,000 per month.
