Wycombe Wanderers 2 - Bristol Rovers 0

Adams Park

1st Dec 2012

Attendance: 3,740

Another Defeat, Another Sending Off

Mark McGhees Bristol Rovers slipped to another defeat and moved closer to the relegation zone.

McGhee made several changes to the side that drew to 3-3 at home to Bradford last Saturday. Matt Lund, Matt Gill, David Clarkson and Tom Parkes all returned to the side. It was a poor start from Rovers as they went 1-0 down after just 11 minutes, Joel Grant fired past Sam Walker in the Rovers goal. Rovers best chance fell to Dave Clarkson who headed over Michael Smiths cross.

Wycombe player manager Gareth Ainsworth came off the bench at half time and it was him who stretched Wycombe's lead. The 39 year old finished with a fine diving header to put Wycombe 2-0 up. Matt Lund was sent off in injury time for a frustrated lunge.

Rovers slipped to 22nd in League Two just one point out of the relegation zone. Rovers next game is home to Dagenham & Redbridge next Saturday.
