Manager John Ward made three changes to the side that drew 1-1 at home to Bury.

Tom Lockyer, Oliver Norburn and dave Clarkson all game in to replace Will Packwood who was not allowed to play by parent club Birmingham, Alefe Santos who was injured and Matt Harrold who took a place on the bench.

Rovers took the lead on 16 minutes when John-Joe O'Toole tapped home after Lee Brown strike came back off the post. Oliver Norburn made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time with a low drive. Five minutes into the second half Rovers were 3-0 up, striker Chris Beardsley forced the ball home.

Then York picked the game up and were awarded a penalty on 70 minutes which Wes Fletcher fired home, then just one minutes later Fletcher scored a 30 yard strike to make it 3-2. Rovers held on though to set up a tie against Crawley at The Memorial Stadium on December 7th.
