Rovers Get A Point On The Road
26th Dec 2013
Manager John Ward named the same side that beat Portsmouth 2-0 on Saturday.
There was a place on the bench for long term injury victim James Patterson. It was a terrible start for Rovers who conceded a penalty in the first five minutes. Midfielder Dave Clarkson was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area and On-loan Torquay striker John Marquis slotted home to give Torquay an early lead. Former Rovers keeper Michael Poke was on hand to save a couple of shots with his legs to keep Torquay in front until Matt Harrold scored from close range from Lee Browns corner.
Rovers kept the pressure up in the second half and Smith O'Toole and Richards all had chances for Rovers. At thre other end Steve Mildenhall saved well from Bodin and Torquay hit the post through Damien Mozika. Rovers next face Rochdale away on Sunday and sit in 19th in League Two after yesterdays 1-1 draw.
