Bristol Rovers

Bootham Crescent

18th Jan 2014

Attendance: 3,514

Referee:

Manager John Ward made two changes to the starting line up bringing in youngsters Mitch Harding and Tom Lockyer for Ollie Norburn and Ellis Harrison who both dropped to the bench.

After previous meetings in which there were plenty of goals fans were expecting the same today, but it was not to be. Rovers did have Steve Mildenhall to thanks for pulling off several great saves to keep the scores level. Rovers did come the closest to scoring though through Matt Harrold who's header hit the post in the first half.

Rovers did also have a John Joe O'Toole goal dissallowed for offside. Harrold did go off injured and was replaced by Chris Beardsley, but it looks like Harrold should be fit when Rovers take on Newport on Saturday at The Memorial Stadium. Rovers sit in 22nd in League Two after yesterdays point.

Nigel Worthington

'It was an excellent game of football between two honest teams trying to win the game. We probably created more out of the two sides but their goalkeeper has had a fantastic day and stopped two or three dead certs,'

John Ward

'The back four and our goalkeeper were all superb. The saves Steve Mildenhall made were terrific, and I thought our two centre-halves did very well in working out their major threats.

'We had opportunities at the other end ourselves; I can't complain too much about the disallowed goal as I didn't see it.'
