Harrison Late Strike Seals Win

Yeovil Town
0 - 1
Bristol Rovers

Huish Park

15th August 2015

Attendance: 5,895

Ellis Harrison fired home with just two minutes to go to earn Rovers a deserved three points away at Yeovil Town.

Manager Darrell Clarke gave a debut to Aaron Chapman in the Rovers goal after telling Steve Mildenhall he was no longer first choice keeper at the club. Jermaine Easter was rested so Matty Taylor and Ellis Harrison led the attack. Rovers started brightly and were in control from the first minute of game and if it wasnt for some great goalkeeping from Krysiak in the Yeovil goal Rovers could have won by a bigger margin, the shot stopper made good saves from Ellis Harrison twice and Ollie Clarke.

Rovers were to play mos of the second half with a mann advantage after Yeovil's Matty Dolan got sent off after receiving his second yellow card. It looked as if it was going to be a frustrating afternoon for Rovers but with just two minutes to go Ellis Harrison lashed home his second goal of the season to earn Rovers all three points.

Rovers next face Luton Town away on Tuesday night.

Darrell Clarke

'Delighted with the performance in general to be honest I thought first half we were pretty dominant, second half took us a little longer to get going.
'Certainly their keeper has shown a man of the match display, how he's pulled one out of the top corner second half I don't know.

'But we kept going we kept probing we changed things around a little bit looking for that right answer to pick up the points.

'Obviously when their lad gets sent of it makes it easier to push more men forward and when we did that we had a right go from the off.'

Paul Sturrock

'Firstly I think our goalkeeper got man of the match. I think that paints a picture to the story.

'We're a very inexperienced team at this minute trying to find our feet without our backbone of the team, our striker, somebody to play midfield you know things like that.
