Bodin Returns With A Hat-Trick

Bristol Rovers
4 - 1
Coventry City

Memorial Stadium

26th Dec 2016

Attendance: 11,200

Referee:

Darrell Clarke recalled Billy Bodin to the starting line up as Rovers started with a 4-4-2 formation. There was no place for Hiram Boateng or Stuart Sinclair, but Liam Lawrence was back for Rovers on the bench.

It was Billy Bodin who supplied the cross for Rovers first goal, when Peter Hartley headed home from 12 yards out. It was pretty even after that with no keeper really being troubled for the rest of the first half.

Bodin got his first goal on 54 minutes when he fired home a fierce left foot drive from a pass from striker Rory Gaffney. Coventry got a goal almost instantly when Jordan Willis fired home after poor defending by Rovers.

Bodin got his second and the best of the game when he fired home from 25 yards out to make it 3-1 to Rovers. Ellis Harrison and Lee Brown both went close for Rovers before Puddy had to be on hand to save well from Willis.

Bodin got Rovers fourth and his third from the penalty spot. It was Bodin himself who was fouled in the area and Matty Taylor handed the responsibility of taking the penalty to Bodin who fired home.

Rovers are upto 10th in League One and next face AFC Wimbledon at The Memorial Stadium on New Years Eve.
