Away Fans Guide:Doncaster

Away Fans Guide:Doncaster
Which pubs would you recommend to our fans to use during our visit to The Keepmoat?
There are loads upon loads of pubs in the town centre and I am sure you would be welcomed in most of them, but as stated it is a long walk from the centre to the ground, so just bear that in mind if you decide to drink there, the cheswold would be a better option and I have seen away fans in there before but not very many, but the ground does sell alcohol after a brief spell when it was banned for under aged drinkers.

What food do you serve at your ground? What is it like?
The food is about par for the course, usual stuff, pies, chrisps, chocholate, pops ECT I`ve always found food to be expensive at football grounds and this in no different.

What is your ground like?
The Keep moat Stadium. A brand new purpose built all seat stadium, which opened on New Year`s day 2007. Capacity 15,300. Away fans are seated in The North Stand behind the goal, with seating for up to 3,000 away fans. it is a fantastic ground with excellent facilities, the pitch is a mixture of artificial weaving from a desser machine and turf it`s an excellent plying surface, even though we have the local rugby team playing on it.

Is the ground easy to find?
It is very easy to find for away fans, less than a mile from Junction 3 of the M18 (behind the Lakeside Village shopping centre), signs from the motorway, it`s a straight road all the way down from the motorway so just go over a couple of roundabouts and you can`t miss it.

Any suggestions of where the away fans can park?
Parking at the ground for around 1,000 cars at £5 per car, I believe you have to have at least 3 people in the car to park in the grounds car park, otherwise parking in private car parks close to the ground (mostly private companies who open their car parks on match days and typically charge £3 - £4 per car). There is some road side parking near the ground

Has your season gone as expected?
The season started very badly, losing teams who we should have been beating, such as, Hartlepool, Northampton, Bournemouth and drawing against millwall,I say this with respect to those teams but if you look at the signings we made and how the bookies were tipping us it made for a very poor couple of months that, made the fans call for the mangers head. Things did start to pick up after the manger stuck with a regular team and the lads started to work properly as a unit and to sum up where we are now Doncaster rovers are plying some football of the likes never seen down at the keepmoat and we are getting rave reviews that are unheard of in these parts. The expectation is massive now with the likes of Elliot and Taylor coming on board and team selection must be a wonderful thing to have with any one of the players coming off the bench can easily be a match winner.

Do you have any memories of Rovers?
I will always remember the 1984/85 season fa cup fourth round when Everton welcomed doncaster rovers to goodison park, it was a fantastic day out and a superb atmosphere and I seem to remember doncaster taking about 10,000 down there, even though we lost it was a unbelievable occasion and one to cherish, the month before saw us knock out a London team in the name of qpr

Any key players missing for Saturday?
I think James hayter who is Doncasters top goal score is out with a hernia, Graeme lee is back for selection along with mills and now the 2 new signings are amongst the team sheet, these are exciting times for the club.
Prediction?
Bristol Rovers are one of the inform team in the league along with Swansea and Doncaster and if they win their games in hand this could project them in the play off potions. Doncaster are flying high and are playing football of the kind no associated with these parts for many a year, on their travels they are getting some superb reviews for their passing and football game and if they continue to play the way there are Bristol are going to be in for a torrid 90 mins. Saying that, I have witnessed Bristol play at Cardiff, so push over`s they are not, unfortunalety you are playing doncaster at a time when they believe in themselves that much that only a outstanding performance by Bristol and a off day doncaster will leave you with any chance of getting a result here.
My prediction
Doncaster rovers 3-Bristol Rovers 1
